Her Little Dimples - Chapter 12: I Lost My Key
“What?” Xie Ci wanted to continue.
But someone at the classroom door interrupted, “Brother Ci, everyone’s waiting for you, hurry up!”
Seeing that he had something out to do, Xu You instantly let out a sigh in relief and quietly turned around.
But then she suddenly remembered something else.
She turned her head and shouted to the person who was leaving with some hesitation, “Um, I have your jacket.”
“What?” he looked sideways at her as if he didn’t hear what she said.
“You left your jacket at the testing room, I took it back for you,” Xu You explained patiently. She reached into her desk and pulled out the jacket.
The people waiting outside saw that Xie Ci was still wasting time and yelled again, “A Ci, you can flirt with your girl later, we have to hurry up!”
But this was the first time Xu You took the initiative to speak.
Xie Ci looked at her serious expression and suddenly smiled, “You’re trying to steal my clothes?”
Xu You just handed the black sports jacket over and ignored his joke.
Her hand was very white, especially when under the black jacket, it made her hand stand out.
“If you’re not going to take it, I’m going to drop it on the floor,” Xu You frowned as she looked at the person who had no intention to move.
But her soft voice didn’t sound threatening at all.
He took the clothes slowly.
As the usual laziness, he said with a frivolous voice, “Oh, you have quite a bad temper.”
The bad-tempered Xu You ignored him again and turned around.

When the bell of the last exam rang, the campus gradually returned to life. The corridors and stairs were full of students and noisy voices.
Every now and then, there would be students holding papers and checking their answers with each other.
“Alas, finally finished the English test,” a person complained.
“Don’t worry, Brother Ji, you’ll always be the worst,” said another.
Then there were some chasing and fighting, and the desks were bumped around everywhere.
Zheng Xiaolin in the front held Xu You’s English answers to check with hers. But she gave up halfway. “Oh no, I got so many different answers from yours in the reading comprehension section.”
Xu You smiled as she saw her sad expression. She took her English paperback and comforted her, “It’s okay, I guessed most of the problems too.”
Top students were all like this.
So, of course, Zheng Xiaolin didn’t believe her. She still felt very sad, “When I was still writing my essay in the testing room, I saw you handing your test in early.”
“Oh, little cutie? You know how to hand your test in early?” Fu Xueli appeared about of nowhere with some milk tea and said while flipping through a magazine. She flipped a page and then yawned.
For some reason, she didn’t look as energetic today, much different from her usual appearance.
Xu You was a little worried and she pressed her hand against her deskmate’s forehead, “Are you sick?”
“No,” Fu Xuelie smiled as she took Xu You’s hand off, “I just didn’t sleep well last night.”
After a few more words, the homeroom teacher came in and walked onto the podium.
She didn’t say a word, but the classroom gradually quieted down and everyone went back to their seats.
“This monthly exam is over and you all should have an idea what you got.”
Xu Huiru pressed her hands on the podium deck and looked down below, “The results will come out tomorrow, and I also plan for new seats next week. If you have someone who you want to sit next to, please come talk to me privately.”
As expected, there was a wave of sighing.
“Teacher, why will the results come out so quickly this time?” asked someone loudly.
Everywhere in the class, the whispering started again.
Xie Ci changed seats with Song Yifan and sat directly behind Xu You. She was looking down and seemed to be looking for something for a long time.
He looked at her back absent-mindedly.
Fu Xueli leaned over and asked curiously, “Little cutie, what are you doing?”
“I’m looking for my key,” Xu You took out all the books from her desk and checked everywhere. Nothing.
She then opened the zipper of her backpack and looked in there for a long time too.
Fu Xueli also helped. She looked around as she asked, “When did you lose it?”
“I don’t know,” replied Xu You as she continued to go through her backpack.
Song Yifan joined by leaning on his desk, “What’s wrong, what happened?”
Xu You looked everywhere and in the end, said in frustration, “I dropped my key.”
“If you dropped it, then just pick it up, ” replied Song Yifan.
“But it’s gone,” Xu You was confused, “how can I pick it up?”
Song Yifan replied again naturally, “With your hands, of course.”
“But, the key…” Xu You couldn’t understand why he didn’t understand.
Fu Xueli, who was on the side, suddenly realized and said, “Xu You, do you mean you lost your key?”
“Yeah,” Xu You turned to her and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Oh,” Song Yifan suddenly laughed, “So from where you came from, dropped and lost mean the same thing?”
Xu You sat back and didn’t want to talk to him.
At this time, she didn’t want to care about the difference between words from the north and the south. She just kept asking the same question over and over again in her head, where did my key go?
I remember it being in my backpack…
Then…
Oh!
Xu You’s eyes lit up, she turned around, put her hands on the edge of the table, and asked, “Do you have my key in your jacket? I think I might have accidentally given it to you?”
Xie Ci leaned forward slightly and raised his eyebrows as he whispered, “Guess.”
“No,” Xu You immediately rejected, “Give back my key.”
Xie Ci smiled, “Why should I do so?”
His lazy tone and stubborn expression made his appearance seem like it deserved a smack.
On one side, Song Yifan, who obviously did not know when to speak and when not to, interrupted, “A Ci, look at how long the little girl has been worried for, just give back her key bro.”
“Why do you care?” Xie Ci asked back coldly.
Xu You really thought that he wasn’t going to give it back to her. She started to get worried as she stuck out her white palm, “Xie Ci, give it back to me, my key.”
Xie Ci spun the pen in his hand for a while and looked at her for a few seconds.
His skin was very white, and his pupils were black and shiny. He actually could look quite handsome, but his face always looked so sloppy. Xie Ci lilted his head and said teasingly, “Call me brother and I’ll give it to you.”
Song Yifan:…
Holy shit bro, what the fuck? What year is it and you’re still saying such boring things?
Xu You’s thin face blushed immediately upon hearing this.
“Are you going to do it or not? I’ll give you three seconds,” said Xie Ci shamelessly as he began to count down.
“——3”
“——2”
“——1”
Xu You didn’t know what to do and was afraid that he would just end up taking the key. Without another choice, she blurted out, “Brother.”
He was taken back.
Everyone was silent for a few seconds.
Then Xie Ci was the first to laugh, “Xu You, how are you so coquettish?”
