Invincible Powers - Chapter 0: Prologue - The Vast World
The Vast World.
In the Land of Extinction, deep within the Northern Volcanos, red boiling magma slowly floated endlessly.
The Earth-Fire Mountain Range that stretched across thousands of miles shook and roared as if the end was coming.
A horrifying ghostly figure solidified in the Northern part of the land. Looking from far away, the surrounding light was fading, swallowed by the endless darkness.
In the West, a roar beneath the frozen grounds shook the earth and shuddered the wild beasts who all lower their heads to the ground.
A giant three-legged cauldron1Chinese Cauldron (Ding): a three or four-legged pot that was originally used for ritual, wine, and food. In the case of this novel (in Daoism), the Ding was used as a tool to refine medicine and produce pills. Both of which will have various properties. Even though some of the poisons or “powers” from the medicine is real, others are fictional hovered on top of an active volcano, constantly bursting out lava. Numerous crimson fire-dragon carvings covered the cauldron’s immense body that was large enough to cover up the sky and the sun. The cauldron violently and greedily attracted nine more giant columns of fire straight towards the sky.
The nine crimson flames were each connected to one of the nine fire sources of the Earth-Fire Mountain Range. Now all nine were forcefully led up to the copper cauldron and disappeared as they touched the cauldron’s surface.
In the cauldron, it was a different world.
Countless unknown Spell Engravings and ancient symbols fluttered inside, almost like billions of spirits dancing in this separated world.
A giant round medicinal pill with nine red stripes was bouncing around the cauldron causing thunder and lightning to erupt constantly.
The pilled twisted and turned, spattering colorful Light of Memory, and each speck of light revealed many scenes and they were each a lifetime worth of experience.
The innumerable light spots were like fireworks; it flashed and disappeared.
“Elder Brother2Senior Brother: an elder apprentice; also known as a martial brother, the Reincarnation Pill doesn’t seem right!”
There was a sudden loud howling that came from inside the Pill, along with a fuzzy gray shadow.
The howling was filled with shock, anger, and finally despair and sadness.
“Of course, it was not right. ” Zhong Chichen stood there calmly, watching the Reincarnation Pill that contained all of Hong Qi’s Mark of Spirit. He said quietly, “Goodbye, my good brother.”
The Pill suddenly shrank while the nine flame stripes blasted out a bright light that tore the time and space.
Finally, the Pill condensed to the size of a rice grain and disappeared after another explosion of bright light.
A few days later, the Devine Medicine Sect announced to the world that Hong Qi died due to the miss-refining of medicine.
His position as the Sovereign of the Devine Medicine God Sect would be replaced by his brother Zhong Chichen.
