Invincible Powers - Chapter 65: You Are Weak, But We Are Strong
“The mirage pearl tracking the group from the Waning Moon City seems to be damaged. We can’t see anything in that area now.”
Li Yuchan pointed toward Mirage Water Curtain to grab the elder general’s attention.
The images what was suppose to be the Waning Moon City group turned into a normal ripple in the water, unable to project any more scenes.
Just a moment ago, they were still able to see that the cultivators of the Waning Moon City were all scattered around the mural, some standing and some sitting.
The next time Li Yuchan tried to change into the scene, nothing would work anymore.
Having many experiences with this tool, she immediately concluded that the problem must be from a mirage pearl located in that area.
The images shown in the Mirage Water Curtain were simply a scene reflected by the mirage pearls, and in almost every crater, there were one or more mirage pearls placed there for this purpose.
Just like an eye, these special pearls could present images of their surroundings.
More impressively, the mirage pearls also act as a medium for recording.
In a desperate situation, both Li Yuchan and the old general could use the Mirage Water Curtain to communicate with people being seen.
If they had to, they could even direct their spiritual power to the other side and control the situation.
In short, each pearl was critical to the safety of the participants inside the Forbidden Land.
“Don’t worry, it’s just one pearl. Just take extra caution now,” the old general replied lazily, enjoying the sun. “There are hundreds, or even thousands, of them in there. Over time, some will inevitably malfunction eventually. “
“It’s not like that it never happened before.”
“I don’t think that it’s at all intentional.”
“From what I know, none of these kids have what it takes to notice the precise locations of the pearls. Well, maybe Li Yu is an exception, but he will not damage the pearls on purpose.”
“Okay, then we’ll see.”
…
Just before nightfall…
Yu Yuan was refining a Condensed Spiritual Pill, using the energy within to heal his injuries.
He could still feel the sword light that was engraved onto the bones in his arms.
He tried to comprehend the secrets of the sword light by feeling the patterns, but the disorderly engravings were too deep for his current understanding to even scratch the surface.
His already-advanced Soul of Heaven even felt dizzy after reading it for a while.
He knew that it wasn’t the time for it yet. It wasn’t something made for a cultivator just reaching the Contained Spirit Realm to understand.
Since I can’t do anything about it, I’ll just leave it for later. It seems quite useful and can help when I’m in danger.
While thinking, he opened his eyes.
The Contained Spirit Realm was focused on the development of the cultivator’s spirit. He planned to use a separate method to get through this realm faster, but with all the unexpected injuries…
He had to pause and recover first.
The power from that method he planned to use could be too overbearing, and if he wasn’t careful in controlling it, the method could easily overwhelm his body.
He didn’t want to get injured by himself.
Therefore, he had to make sure that his body was in perfect condition before starting that method.
“With the help of these pills, the internal damage should be healed within a day or two.” Yu Yuan got up and looked around.
The first one he saw was Han Hui.
According to Zhao Yafu, this female leader of the Cold Moon City was only nineteen-years-old, not much older than his body’s age after rebirth.
Even though she was able to reach the middle stage of the Yellow Hall Realm at the age of nineteen, she still fell short of what the new moons had accomplished.
However, in the younger generation, she could be considered one of the secondary cultivators of the empire in terms of strength.
The primary ones were, of course, the five new moons.
In terms of beauty, she was also far inferior to Su Yan and Lin Zhuyun, Yu Yuan through to himself. Why does God give them both such beauty and talent? Su Yan, Lin Zhuyun, and even Zhao Yafu were better than most others in almost all aspects.
“Yu Yuan!”
Han Hui saw him standing up and walked toward him.
“So,” she bluntly went straight to her main topic, “we have discussed a little and decided that it is the best for us, Cold Moon City, to join forces with you. We are both the weakest among the teams that are here, so we will also benefit the most from an alliance.”
After explaining, she asked, “What do you think?”
Yuan Ting, Zhao Yafu, and others from both sides all stopped their conversations and gathered around.
“I think that it’s not a good idea.” Yu Yuan shook his head. “Perhaps your team is among the weaker ones, ours is not. We are the top teams that are in here.”
“So, I don’t think there is a need for us to ally, and even if we do, we cannot split the rewards from it equally.”
Remarkably, he gave his opinion on this matter.
Han Hui was astonished by this reply.
The other teens around them were also dumbfounded after hearing this.
Never had they thought that Yu Yuan would say such things?
Dark Moon City being one of the strongest? What is he talking about?
Is he joking?
Anyone knew that the Dark Moon City had been the lowest on the rankings for many years.
For as long as these teens could remember, it had been like this!
Aside from the historical rankings, the two participating teams also had a significant difference in strength:
The Cold Moon City had two Yellow Hall middle stage cultivators and one in the late stage, while the Dark Moon City only had Zhao Yafu who just got to the Yellow Hall Realm.
Cold Moon City had a total of nine participants, and the Dark Moon City had only seven.
What nerve did he have to say that the Dark Moon City was the stronger of the two groups?
“You are joking, right?” After a long time, Han Hui finally said.
Yuan Ting and Zhao Yafu stared at each other. Just as Yuan Ting was about to interrupt, Zhao Yafu shook her head to stop him.
“I’m not,” Yu smiled and said. “If you are truly sincere for an alliance. Everyone from your team has to listen to us, and we must get first pick on all the rewards.”
Han Hui took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down; she looked at Yuan Ting and Zhao Yafu again.
Yuan Ting smiled back, not knowing what else he could do.
Zhao Yafu was more apologetic.
“I see now.”
After wasting more than half a day for Yu Yuan to wake up, Han Hui got nothing in return. “Our kindness is fed to a donkey with no heart!” she said bitterly. “Forget it, let’s go.”
The others in her group glanced at Yu Yuan with a stare and then left.
“Good luck to you.”
Seeing that their efforts were again wasted, the group of people slowly walked away in a sad mood.
“Yu Yuan,” Yuan Ting scratched his head in confusion, “why did you have to piss them off like that? What for?”
“It’s not me who wants to piss them off,” Yu Yuan still looked solemn. “I just feel like if we allied, they would be a burden. Han Hui thinks that she is stronger and smarter than all of us, so she would want to take charge.”
“But I don’t think she’s as smart as she thinks she is.”
“Also…” Yu Yuan chuckled. “With your current state, Sister Zhao will be able to reach the middle stage of the Yellow Hall Realm in a matter of days!”
“By then, dealing with Han Hui will be a piece of cake.”
“So I don’t know what she has that makes her think the Cold Moon City is stronger than us.”
Yuan Ting didn’t feel like those words sounded right, so he looked at Zhao Yafu for help. “You?”
“Yeah.” Zhao Yafu was full of confidence. “Brother Yu is right. I am confident that I’ll be able to defeat her. After I get to the same sub-realm as she is, they can’t beat me even if they come all together.”
“But all that depends on how fast you can get to the middle stage. When do you think you’ll be able to do that?” Yuan Ting asked.
“Around three days, at most five.” Zhao Yafu nodded.
“My God! How? No way you can do it that fast!” Yuan Ting looked like he was about to faint.
Yu Yuan and Zhao Yafu simply smiled at each other.
